Unknown Nightshade

June 19, 2014 // Anyone know what this Nightshade is?… It’s a volunteer/weed that grows about 1-3 feet tall here in the Northern San Francisco Bay Area (zone 9b). Looks like an Eggplant plant with dark purple 1/4 inch fruits. I heard they are edible, but didn’t want to try until I knew more about it.
